Holy Week
Hey College Heights Family,
As we begin to prepare our hearts for Easter, we are going to spend Holy Week studying God’s faithfulness throughout his ages and how His promises still stand true today. For each day, we have a short video and an experience attached to deeper understand the events that occurred during Jesus’s last week before His death and resurrection. We’ll reflect on how those days still impact us every day.

PALM SUNDAY: TEMPLE ENTRANCE
Object: Leaf
This represents the palm leaves that people were waving as Jesus entered the city.
Experience: Play/sing your favorite worship song.
Hosanna would be a great choice for this!

FLIPPING TEMPLE TABLES & A FIG TREE:
Object: A piece of fruit
Discuss the difference between good fruit and rotting fruit and the effects that it has on other things around it.
Experience: Confession
Jesus was removing things that did not bear good fruit. Let's do the same. Spend time in confession where their life is not bearing good fruit.
This can look a variety of ways whether you choose to discuss it or even write out the things that you may need to hand over to God in your life.

DAY OF QUESTIONING:
Object: Crowns
This can be created with just printer paper or other items that you have around the house.
Experience: Casting crowns before the throne (a chair or other designated area).
Write something you are good at, or something you are scared of to surrender to God (Revelation 4:9-11). Write this on your crown, and cast it to God.
Prophecy: Davidic covenant (2 Samuel 7:8-16)
Fulfilled Prophecy: Matthew 21:23-27; Matthew 22:41-45 (Jesus is King!)

Object: Add fragrance to your home
Experience: Examen
Pay attention. Reflect on the day with gratitude. Attend to your emotions (emotions wheel). Realize a moment that you want to savor or regret.
Prophecy: Deuteronomy 18:18
Prophet (speaks the word of God), Priest (offers the sacrifices to God) and King (defeats the enemy of God) are the three offices that are anointed.
Fulfilled Prophecy: Matthew 26:6-13
